Bye Dad!

This afternoon, my brother in Arizona texted me.  Wanted to know if I was home.  I said yes and he called.  I had a feeling this would not be good.   It wasn’t .  Our father passed away this afternoon.  It was completely unexpected.  My dad served his country in the Marine Corps.  He fought in Viet Nam.  He volunteered at our church, he was a scout leader.  He was an amazing man.  You will be missed dad.   Semper Fi!

The suddenness of it all. We never feel our time is finished with those we love, so the time is never right….but this was just so sudden. Take care of yourself. Keep writing. It truly does help the healing process. Just look at Colandra’s slice today.

So sorry for your loss, Lisa! Nobody can really explain situations like this that happen so suddenly, but he must be needed elsewhere. Seems like an amazing man!

Dear Lisa, I have typed, and retyped what I want to say to you about thirty times, but could not find the words. Please know that you are loved, and that my thought and prayers are with you and the girls. The blog you wrote in your father’s honor is testament to the man he was. You are strength, courage and love shine through the sadness of your words. I am sorry for your loss my friend.
